Assignments and Homework - 6th Grade GEARS Advanced Science

October 1st, 2020

By the end of today, you should have finished Exploration 1: "Comparing Rocks and Minerals" and have either started or finished Exploration 2: "Relating Igneous Rocks to the Earth System".

On Google Classroom, you will find a link to an online interactive titled "Exploring Earth - How Do Igneous Rocks Form?"  There is also a Google Doc with 3 questions associated with the activity.

This is due at the start of class on Monday, October 5th.

I have removed the Google Classroom assignment due to our technical issues with remote learning at school.  Hopefully we will be more stable by next Monday.  However, your quiz is still going to take place!

Additionally, you have a quiz over Weathering, Erosion and Deposition on Monday, October 5th.  Make sure you've studied and are ready by then!

September 3rd, 2020

Thanks for your patience, everyone - it looks like the online textbook finally got smoothed out a little better and we can start moving through things a little more effectively!

You have a quiz over Lesson 3: Earth's Plates (pgs. 48-62) next class - Tuesday, September 8th.  This will cover the material from Explorations 1-4.  Be prepared for multiple choice and short answer responses!

August 20th, 2020

Students - your first homework/participation grade will be the return of your 2020-2021 Procedures, Rules, and Policies.  Failure to return the form will result in a 0%.

Remember: as per my Procedures, Rules and Policies, if your work is late you will have two days to turn it in.  You will receive a 10% deduction on the first day and a 30% deduction on the second day, regardless if it's an A or B day.  After 2 days I will not take your assignments due to excessive lateness.

Start things off right - get this form in ASAP!
